Petr Popelka makes his French debut at Radio France Festival

On Tuesday 18 July, Wiener Symphoniker’s newly appointed Chief Conductor Designate Petr Popelka will make his highly anticipated French debut with Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse at Le Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier in a concert featuring works by Ligeti, Bartók, and Dvořák.

This concert marks the last of a series of successful debuts made by Popelka in the 2022/23 season, including Staatskapelle Berlin, Bamberger Symphoniker, SWR Symphonieorchester, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Orchestra sinfonica nazionale della RAI, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg.

With Popelka’s artistic profile on a steep rise, he will return to the orchestra next season in Toulouse with cellist Truls Mørk, to deliver works by Dvořák, Shostakovich, and Prokofiev.

The concert will be broadcast live on France Musique at 8pm CEST.
