Petr Popelka conducts major Austrian TV concert “Frühling in Wien”

On 8 and 9 April, Czech conductor Petr Popelka will lead the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in their traditional Easter TV Concert “Frühling in Wien” (Spring in Vienna). The concert will be broadcasted on channel ORF III, 9 April at 8.15pm, live delayed from Konzerthaus Wien.

The program includes highlights from Czech, Hungarian and Austrian composers: Overture and Dances from Bedřich Smetana’s opera The Bartered Bride, Dvořák’s Song to the Moon from Rusalka, Zoltán Kodály gypsy-inspired Dances from Galánta as well as Viennese highlights from Robert Stolz, Emil Nikolaus von Reznicek, Ricard Strauss and Johann Strauss II.
